William Wayne Bunker

Tonight, just as we were going to bed, Jon's America cell phone began to ring. As he looked at the caller ID and he saw the name Diana Gibson, the woman who was living with and taking care of Wayne, we knew something had happened. Diana told Jon that his father had passed away. She had come home for lunch to check on him, and he was sitting up in his chair in his bedroom, not breathing. She called 911 but when the paramedics arrived they couldn't resuscitate him. He was 94 years old. We feel like he was very blessed to be able to go so quickly. His mind was still sharp, but his body was failing him. He has blessed our lives for many many years. What a remarkable man of God! He is as solid a man as I have ever met. I have felt great love and acceptance from this beautiful man, even through his limited words. I love him and I appreciate the kind of father and grandfather he is. I have seen evidence of his organization and accounting practices. He is completely honest in all of his dealings with men and country. He has a green thumb (understatement). His garden and landscaping was beautiful and peaceful and lovingly tended to. He has always continued to acquire knowledge. He is faithful and loyal in his testimony of the Savior and his love of God. He lovingly gave each of his grandchildren their beautiful and inspired patriarchal blessings. He taught my husband how to honor his priesthood, and how to preside over his family in love and righteousness. He provided the necessities of life and protection for his family. He taught all of those who came after him, how to love and serve their country and their fellow men. We honor him and look forward to celebrating his life next week. Here are a few of the pictures I found that I have with me in England. I love him!

This is absolutely precious!
