December 16

truly a christmas miracle!
after 16 days of thinking about it,
telling myself i won't go to bed tonight
until it's done, worrying when i would
actually take the time...our christmas tree
is up!
it took the whole family...
jon bringing the box in the house,
sadie and i getting it out of the box,
hailey unwrapping all the ornaments,
and everyone putting them on the tree.
wwhheeww! nice to have that checked off my list:)

helping hands...

tod..."mom, come quick, you've got to see this. (laughter) bring your camera."
(more laughter) this just proves dad has spent tooo many hours at the church over the years!
jon..."it's not like i've never done the dishes before!" i just wasn't thinking."

even santa, when trying to help mrs. santa, can use dawn dishwashing liquid instead of cascade dishwasher detergent when loading the dishwasher. end result; overflow, never ending suds, and embarrassment. i love santa anyway, for trying to be helpful, and for giving us a good laugh at his expense. i'll take his unsolicited help any day!

nba fans

last friday jon went to salt lake to see the jazz play the lakers. he, tod, sadie, dave stewart and jack bickmore got to enjoy the game. unfortunately, the jazz killed the lakers, but sitting up close and personal, and seeing some amazing plays made it worth the trip. it started snowing friday night and snowed all night, so by the time he was to fly out saturday morning, he was on the plane 3 1/2 hours waiting to be de-iced and everything. not a happy memory.
before i knew he was planning to go to the jazz game, i had gotten tickets to see the lakers play in denver wednesday, as a birthday gift for him. needless to say, i'm not sure he was toooo excited to jump on another plane and fly somewhere where chances of snow were pretty good. after a delay leaving vegas, we arrived during rush hour for the hour taxi ride to the hotel. we dropped our bags off and took off for the game. we got there in time to see them warming up so jon took the camera and went down close to get some good pictures. none of them turned out, bummer. what a great game! iverson scored 51 points, and the lakers won. it was close the whole way, the fans around me were cool, and jon said it was the greatest nba game he had ever been too. finally, a birthday gift that worked!!!
downtown denver is really nice. i wish we had had more time to explore it, but we had a great time, being together and attending a game of a lifetime.
