an explanation: last monday was memorial day. as hailey and i were driving out to matthew's gravesite, i found myself wondering..."in three years, how many more graves will i be visiting?" (sad but true.)
then, as i was getting ready that afternoon for the little bar-b-que party i found myself wondering..."in three years, will the little girls still like to come over and swim and party at aunt susan's?"
hence, everything about my life now, in las vegas, i think about how it will all be three years from now. when i return. to my homeland. it is weird. normally i wouldn't wonder about things far away, i would just let things happen, day by day, and take the changes as they come.
when we get to santa rosa, i believe my life will be counted in six week periods. everything happens every six weeks. new missionaries come (trip to the airport and orientation), some depart (big dinner and farewell party/testimony meeting), zone conferences (i don't really know how much that will involve me), interviews with president (maybe i will be hanging around visiting with companions and getting to know them), and many other things i don't even know about yet. i just know these things happen once - every six weeks. so for the next three years, my life will be divided into six week intervals. strange.
last tuesday marked four weeks until we walk out of our house here at shenley court, kiss it good-bye, and leave for three years. four weeks from yesterday, we will be set apart and report to the mtc. four weeks from today, i will be sitting in the mtc from 8am - 8pm, being instructed by prophets and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. ok. it is real. sometimes i am ready to just get on with it, and sometimes i still can't believe it. sorry.
on to what has been happening this past week - some things to remember.
1-hailey's 8th grade dance! she loved every minute! she looked adorable! she had fun! and now it will be even harder for her to leave and join us in santa rosa :(.

so i was gonna say something like " in 3 years sadie will be married and pregnant." but then i caught myself and decided i shouldn't let the world know how i really feel.
i love you mama.
i love you.
I have SO been thinking Hailey and Sadie look so much alike lately. Glad you think so too. All you pretty Bunker girls.
some things will change, people will get a little older...
but right when you get home everything will be back to normal... but better, because you're done (until the next big thing). :)
i love you!
p.s... what makes you think those little girls are not going to party at aunt susan's even while you're gone?
Oh I can't even imagine the thought swings! I'm just so excited to live this adventure through you.
It might have been omitted from the missionary handbook but I am pretty sure that there is a requirement that states "must update blog with details and pictures often."
I know for me it will make the time go by so fast!
love ya!
I am so excited for you and we are all going to live this amazing experience through you...(yes, update blog often!) I love you and I love your kids...Grama Linda will be there anytime they need help with their parties!!
We will miss you guys. 6 weeks will turn into 3 years pretty fast. Your family has always been important to us. Enjoy the experience - you will be great missionaries.
thanks for "catching up" on your thoughts... you are so good at expressing yourself! I'm hoping that the next 3 years will go by quickly & that really none of us will get any older...just wiser! that there will be only good things happen, not bad things while youre gone ;)! we love your family!
I was just thinking about you yesterday at dinner. I had made a Roast and then Cory started talking about all of the great food Sis. Cannon, his mission "mom"
made and I thought about how much you will be probably cooking for all of your new sons! You are going to be sooooo great. They will all just love you in CA like we do here! Can you have visitors? And, I can't believe how grown up Hailey is and soooo cute!
Love ya
i can't imagine the anxiety of "waiting" for your entire life to change!! stress!!!!! i think about you all the time and this huge change you're headed for - sending you the best good vibes i have :)
All those 6 week time segments are going to fly by! You will be home before you know it.
I can't wait to read about all of your experiences! You will be a great mission mom!!
