they're back...

megan and hailey are home again! and i'm glad to say, they are both a little better version of themselves! last night we had a little fhe and had them tell us about their experiences, what they learned, their favorite parts, places, happenings! if i had known how profound they were going to be, i would have video taped them.

megan was so full of gratitude and love; towards us, towards joseph and emma, towards the ewells, towards the people she was with, it was very sweet. she had been learning and studying a lot while she was gone. she was flipping through her scriptures, sharing things that had changed her as she had contemplated them. (i know. being contemplative isn't usually what we expect from our megan, but she shared some very profound insights with us) i also was filled with gratitude. before our fhe she had been sharing the more comical parts of her trip. her head stuck in subway doors in nyc, (actually, i didn't think that was very funny) and, i am ashamed to say, when she needed to launder some of her clothes she didn't know how :(. she was with a young man in our ward, andrew whiting, and he helped her out. he thought it was hysterical, and took many pictures of the whole ordeal. we laughed and laughed (what his mother must think...), but megan has always had me, or sadie, or hailey to help her out i guess :). i'm so glad she had such a well rounded trip. she had fun, she laughed, she shared a bed, she cried, she felt the spirit, she didn't talk about dance once for two whole weeks...the entire experience sounded wonderful!

hailey was pretty cute too! she went first, and shared a lot of the things she learned and what they had done. she had a wonderful counselor, ali, and met many, many new friends! one of my favorite quotes was "modest is hottest!". she had several chances to serve; at an old folks home, with under privileged children, and with older women who were mentally challenged. she got to go bowling, have an american idol competition, and a fancy banquet. she has some wonderful memories, and i think she wishes she could have brought everyone home with her!

i am so blessed to have such sweet, beautiful daughters! it is exciting to see their love of the gospel grow, and their confidence strengthen as they feel how much their heavenly father and savior love them! this week is girls camp. i think they will each be able to spend some time at camp stimson. YEAH!!!

You have such beautiful girls... inside and out. I can't even begin to comprehend how many young lives the Ewell's have touched with their church history tours and their amazing testimony of the gospel. I am so glad that both of your girls had great uplifting experiences learning and growing in the gospel. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that Sadie and Ally were on that trip!

church history tour was the best two weeks of my life. megan getting stuck in the subway stopped my heart! it also suprised me how close to the spirit megan got, you can defiantly tell that she loves her heavenly father and has a strong bond with him!

im so glad that hailey had a fun time! that sounds like the coolest camp ever with everything they got to do!

i love both of your girls!
