the weekend

This morning Megan was quite disgusted and said, "Would you stop talking about mammograms!?" And Hailey said, "What is that? Does it hurt? Do a lot of people get breast cancer or something?" Lucky for me, a little teaching moment with my thirteen year old. Anyway, I thought maybe I should get the "pancakes" a little under the radar with a few new pictures and news from the weekend!

1- the dance competition was great! actually hailey had the stomach flu friday (throwing up, body aches) but since they hadn't finished one of the dances they were doing saturday, she had to go to practice friday night for a couple of hours until they were done. poor thing. during that rehearsal time megan pulled something in her rib/back area and has been in quite a bit of pain ever since. hence, saturday morning came and i was wondering if MY girls were going to be able to give their all come competition time.

megan started about 9 and when she finished at noon, she was WEARY! she was a trooper though. i couldn't tell she was having to dance through the pain until i got a text message that said, "i'm hurting :(". her team got 1st place overall for their large group number (the teacup one), and her new duet got 2nd overall! good job megan!

hailey didn't start until 11:30, and then had a break until 3. that was good, because by then she had eaten a little something and was feeling much better! (thank goodness!) her jazz and tap numbers did very well! she is getting SO good. way to go hailey! i know in this picture she looks pretty bored, but by then it was almost 6:30...nine hours at a dance competition is a very LONG time...even if you do love it!

2- sadie came home to support the little sisters, and to see the sun for awhile. she got a really nice sunburn for only being outside for a "little while" :)! she was very supportive and complimentary of her sisters skills, which made it fun for megan and hailey! it is always great to have her home with us...sunday nights are hard though...it means back to the real world :)! she wasn't in the taking picture mode today so she is stuck with this!

3- mike, kristen and lauren came over tonight to say good-bye before we leave for maui in the morning. lauren was wearing her new princess dress she got for her birthday! have to share a picture of that!
