Church History Tour in Preston England!

This morning we got on a bus with all of our 3-week missionaries and went to see the church history sites in Preston and Downham. It was FREEZING and windy (but not raining) and we walked around the city for about an hour and a half. My tights and shoes didn't quite cut it...I need some different equipment...! Anyway, it was beautiful! I can only imagine what it will look like in the spring and summer. 15 Wadham Road is where President Hinckley was living when he received his letter from his father that said, "Gordon, forget yourself and go to work." He said that was a "day of decision" for him. He went upstairs to pray about it and when he got up off his knees, he got to work and never looked back. The tour guide, Peter Fagg, told us a sweet story of how the Prophet came back to this apartment a few times and actually went back up stairs to the bedroom where he prayed. I really felt the Spirit as he told us about President Hinckley's experience there! I love President Hinckley!

This is a beautiful park on the edge of the River Ribble. Such a peaceful sight, and probably since it was -1C degree, we were the only people outside.

In Downham I saw my first Red telephone booth. This one had a defibrillator in it! We are anxious to return to that village and do some exploring.
