december daily, day 10

It wouldn't be Christmas without this nativity of my Mother's. Eula Mae Judd gave it to her many years ago, (hand made! i was always fascinated with it, especially the jewels and chains on the camels and wisemen) and when Jon and I lived in her home all those years at 4220 Del Rey...I sort of took it over. (i think she is ok with that, i hope) This is one of my Christmas treasures! I finally put it out today.

Our tree finally got decorated. Not sure it was our best effort, but since it is December 10th already and it will be coming down in a couple of weeks, I tried really hard not to fret too much about it. Hailey was very helpful! In years past I think she would have liked to just through the balls at the tree and leave them where they landed. This year she was awesome, trying to do it with great care, so I would like it. She is such a nice 16 year old.

I worked on my missionaries Christmas bags for probably six hours tonight. About 11 pm I took a box off of the bed and realized something had broken inside and in was wet clear through to the mattress. It had made some bad stains so I started working on trying to get that stuff washed, therefore I decided to keep working on the boxes while I washed. I finally went to bed about 12:30 am and just laid there. There was no way I could get comfortable. Finally I got up again and took 3 advil. I was sure I wouldn't be able to walk today. Doing a project like this, kneeling, standing, kneeling, standing, kneeling, kneeling, kneeling..is hard on my fifty one year old body. But, I am almost done getting that all ready! Hallelujah!!!
