To those of you that question the home court advantage... Tod said (and I AGREE with him 100%), "if BYU is so much better than us, they should be able to beat us anyplace, anytime." The Rebels have also had some success in the "big dance" lately (2007-sweet sixteen) - BYU has NOT. I sincerely hope that changes for them this year though! :)! (Camie, have a talk with your brother, he has my back)
To those of you that are questioning my obsession about my team...going to Rebel games is a great family unifier. Some families have boats and go to the lake together, some families hike and bike ride together, some families spend time at a family cabin...the Bunker's are Rebel fans and go to basketball games together. It has a way of bonding us like no other.
I have a story to share about this game, but have decided to take a poll before doing so. Some of the Bunker's are BRAWLERS, and some of the Bunker's are PEACEMAKERS. I am curious what your impression of each of us is. So if you want to vote on who fits in which category, feel free. I am curious. Let me just say, if you want to sit in your chair and watch a championship game - stay at home and watch it on t.v.!!! This brought back memories of The Fiesta Bowl, Utah vs. Pittsburgh. Cru-thik baby!!!
Back to the game...My favorite sign at the game said,
You just lost to:
two walk-ons,
a 27 year old,
a 6'7" center, and
a guy named "Wink"
Coach Krugar is the man! I hope he stays at UNLV for a long time! His players respect and believe in him. The fans appreciate his demeanor; even tempered, optimistic, "we need to improve every week", attitude! Thanks to the team for some great fun and fantastic memories this season! Good luck next weekend!
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

i knew you would have some fun things to say about the excitement that came home with steve. and i am going to guess that.... Jon, sadie, hailey and tod are peacemakers... but you, kristen and megan can bring the heat. if you look REALLY closely at the picture of all of the crazies on the court at the end, you will see my sweet husband jumping around in the thick of it all.
ctr and be nice! i really do like the rebels and their coach.
i'm just sad i missed the game and the celebrating. dave had some pretty crazy stories of byu fans trying to block rebel fans with flip flops and such.
i'd say you are all peacemakers... but when it comes to competitive situations, the bunker girls turn fierce!
by the way, i just love how brynley sneaks her way into all your pictures. thanks for being so good to her.
those are fun pictures! i would definitely label kristen a bralwer!:):) not sure about the rest of you.:)
a super fun game!!
the rumor is that the crazy blonde girl hitting people with her shoes is lee cummards wife...
we LOVE bryn...she's an amazing rebel fan!!
the rebels play with heart..there's no denying that!!
How fun that your family has a place to bond! What fun! In your pictures everyone is always so happy! great memories... you'll have to make a "rebels" scrapbook!
Allison
Yeah! WooHoo!! I'm still singing the fight song...at least the part that we all know. Who knew there were more words!!
It WAS Sarah Cummard swinging at a Utah News guy...really..what a good sport.
There is some high wailing going on from all the Cougar fans...according to our friends (players wife & coaches niece) ALL UNLV fans were, drunk, all on the court (yes all 10,000 or however many were there of us)and we all punched, kicked, flipped off, stole children, hit Grannies and jumped anyone wearing blue. Jeez..wha wha wha....
I had a great time! Maybe you ALL are secretly brawlers...the BYU fans seem to think we all are!
Go Rebs!
It was a great game and I am secretly happy that the Rebels won! It was a blast to be there and see Wink go into a zone that was unreal. Go Rebels! We happened to be sitting by some very stupid, ignorant, foul mouthed UNLV fans that were very embarrassing to true Rebel fans. Ally was ready to punch them! But, you can't let a few dumb fans ruin it for everyone else.
UNLV players played with class and deserved that win... they played their hearts out! I would say that Jon and Hailey are peacemakers but the rest of the Bunker Cru are Brawlers! We Love All of You!!! Go Rebels!
wow! i say that EVERYONE needs a cheerleader like you susan! i'm all for family bonding time! i'd like to vote on the brawlers vs. the peacemakers, but i'm SURE the answers are different based on whether it's at a game, or in regular life! LOL
